As a graduate of Taylor's Media Communication department, you'll leave with an amazing portfolio that demonstrates excellence in your area of concentration. Employers regularly report how stunned they are by the quality of our students' work.
Film & Media Production and Media Production majors produce senior portfolios that have two parts—a digital portfolio that highlights their best work and a written portfolio that supports their production work. The portfolio will give evidence of your ability to solve client problems, think creatively, tell original stories and do the detailed planning required of producer/directors such as storyboarding, script breakdowns, and treatments.
Media Writing majors put together portfolios that demonstrate excellence in news writing, feature and magazine-style writing, web writing and potentially scriptwriting for audio and video. Their portfolios also show the student's range as a storyteller, including supportive photojournalism, layouts for print and the web and possibly some audio/video production and screenwriting, depending on your interests. These cross-disciplinary skills are in high demand by today's media writers and journalists.
